Postdoc Preview May 2024
Opens Feb 1 2024 12:00 AM (EST)
Deadline Mar 23 2024 11:59 PM (EDT)
Description

Postdoc Preview will be held in-person on May 9 - 10, 2024 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Postdoc Preview introduces upper-level graduate students in the biomedical sciences to the extensive research and training opportunities at Michigan. Selected guests will enjoy a fully-funded two-day visit to Ann Arbor, interview with prospective mentors, and network with current U-M postdocs. Applicants must expect to complete their thesis research within the next year.

A previous candidate shared: “Postdoc Preview accelerated my application process and increased the probability of receiving an invitation to interview. It provided a very useful tool as well--a deadline. I was able to tell professors that I needed an interview by X date and a decision X weeks after. To my surprise, that helped a lot and I received multiple offers.”

Applications are accepted until March 23, 2024. The application will ask for the following:

  • CV
  • Statement of research interests
  • 2-3 names of U-M faculty of interest
  • One letter of recommendation (you'll be asked to submit the recommender's contact information)

Research opportunities are available across 30+ departments at the Medical School, ranging from clinical departments such as Internal Medicine and Neurology, Michigan Medicine-affiliated health services research including epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health, as well as basic science departments including Bioinformatics, Biological Chemistry, Cancer Biology, Cellular & Developmental Biology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Human Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology & Immunology, Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology, Molecular & Cellular Pathology, Molecular & Integrative Physiology, Neuroscience, and Pharmacology.
